According to the United States, Iran allegedly attacked vessels passing through the Persian Gulf and then subsequently downed an American drone that may have been in Iranian airspace, a fact that has implications for the legality of potential uses of force in the future. Additionally, the United States apparently launched a cyberattack against Iran. There have been no casualties on either side.

The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian), while condemning these attacks in the strongest terms, believes these attacks are serious violation of the Constitution and the law, and a violation of the offices of a legalized party that has representation in the Parliament and provincial councils, including the provinces of Basra and Nasiriyah

We hereby state very clearly that it is the responsibility of the state institutions, especially the security, to protect the headquarters and offices of all the parties authorized by law, including those of the Iraqi Communist Party.

We believe that the IRI is the major actor in creation of the current situation in our country. Freedom and security of the Iranian people is possible in transition from the existing system to a system based on the free will of the people. The IRI, with its destructive policies over the past four decades has created the current risky situation and has provided the groundwork for threat and destruction to our country.

 It is the duty of all peace-loving people of Iran, region and around the world. We ask all the people, institutions and peace-loving societies to join us on this outcry against war.
